I love Samantha Young's novels and when I was presented with the chance to participate in the official blog tour for Villain, I grabbed it without second thought! I haven't read Hero yes, which is something I definitely recommend you guys do before picking this novella up, but it's definitely on my list of books I want to read in the immediate future! I don't even know how it managed to escape my attention. It did spoil some things for me but, that definitely won't deter me from actually reading Hero so, keep that in mind if you're wondering whether it's better to read Hero first and Villain after. 

Villain was an immensely enjoyable novella that ended to abruptly for my liking because I do wish that this would've been an actual novel. Apart from that, I loved the characters and the chemistry they had with each other. Nadia was a very relatable heroine, who obviously struggled with her confidence and had some trouble accepting herself because of her past and everything she went through when she was younger. After what she went through, she decided to leave her old life behind and become a renewed and better version of herself. She manages to land a spot on TV as a broadcasting meteorologist in a breakfast show and become Boston's it girl for her funny and quick-witted demeanor. But when her boss finds out what actually happened in the past, he holds it against her and blackmails her to help him land a story that will set him at the top of the charts.

This is where dear Henry comes in. I definitely would have fallen for him in case you were wondering because he's charming, kind, funny, loyal and of course, smoking hot. That was a lot to take in, I'm quite aware but, it's the truth. Nadia tries to resist the chemistry they obviously have and stay away from him but, nothing goes as planned and Henry manages to tear down her defenses and make her understand how much he actually cares for her. After some unfortunate circumstances, the two of them make amends and their relationship keeps getting challenged because of Henry's unconscious flirting nature and Nadia's inability to trust him with her past. 

I love Samantha Young's ability to create such complex, interesting and vulnerable characters! Also, her writing makes it so easy to follow the story and there's always this sort of fluidity in her novels that makes you want to keep reading until you reach the end! Which is never enough, by the way! You really get sucked into the plot and how it progresses is a matter of life and death to your sensitive little heart. Yes, that's right. And even though this was a novella, the character development was very impressive! I really enjoyed the way things happened and loved Nadia and Henry's relationship. They got off on a rocky start but, everything worked out in the end and I couldn't have been happier. They were perfect for each other and their moments together were explosive! And swoon worthy!

Overall, I loved Villain and if you're a fan of Samantha Young, I'm 100% sure that you'll love it too! Even more so if you've already read Hero! It's definitely a novella worth reading and it won't take you more than a day. It was fun, quick and extremely enjoyable! I got so invested in it that I sat down and finished it in a couple of hours. Cannot wait to get my hands on Hero!
